The U.S. basketball team opened its Olympic schedule with a 98-71 win over France today, which included the Olympic debut of Anthony Davis.
The former Kentucky center played eight minutes, scoring three points and grabbing three rebounds. He was one-of-two from the floor and one-of-two from the foul line.
Davis turned it over once, but also blocked his first shot in Olympic play.
Kevin Durant scored 22 points to lead the U.S. win. Durant and Tyson Chandler each had nine rebounds.
The U.S. led 52-36 at the half and 78-51 after three quarters, which allowed coach Mike Krzyzewski to give Davis his first taste of Olympic play.
