Yahoo Sports is reporting that Anthony Davis, the expected No. 1 pick in the NBA Draft, has finally picked an agent.
And it’s not CAA.
Marc Spears of Yahoo Sports tweeted: Projected No. 1 NBA pick Anthony Davis @AntDavis23 has decided to be represented by Wasserman Media Group, sources tell Yahoo! Sports.
And then, “Wasserman Media Group’s Arn Tellem and Thad Foucher will be main agents dealing with soon to be New Orleans Hornet big man Anthony Davis.”
Considering William Wesley’s connections to UK head coach John Calipari, it was assumed by some that all the Cats going pro would sign up with Creative Artists Agency, the firm which employs Wesley. (He is now an agent for coaches.) But that has not been the case, and Davis is just the latest example.
John Wall’s agent is Dan Feagan. Brandon Knight signed with Tellem. Josh Harrellson signed with Merle Scott of United Worldwide Sports and Entertainment. DeMarcus Cousins signed with the little-known John Greig. Patrick Patterson signed with Odell McCants of Capitol Sports Management.
Eric Bledsoe and DeAndre Liggins both signed with CAA. Bledsoe chose Leon Rose as his agent. Liggins signed up with Henry Thomas. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist has also signed with CAA, but then he is Wesley’s cousin.
