Julius Mays’ high school coach tells the Journal-Courier in West Lafayette that the former Wright State guard could accept Purdue’s scholarship offer this weekend.
After starting his career at North Carolina State, Mays played last year at Wright State and would not have to sit out a year because he is graduating. He had listed Illinois, Purdue, Michigan State, Michigan and Kentucky as possible destinations.
Meanwhile, Mays said he will visit Purdue this weekend and talked highly of the Boilermakers.
“I would have a chance to score the ball and play guard with a great group of guys,” Mays told the paper’s Jeff Washburn. “I feel like I could play for coach (Matt) Painter. I watch a lot of basketball, and any time Purdue is on, I watch them. You never know if this is my last visit. If I’m ready to choose, that’s what I will do.”
