Jeff Eisenberg of Yahoo reports that Kentucky is among the schools that have expressed interest in Mark Lyons, the guard who transferring from Xavier.
Eisenberg’s tweet: “Brewster Academy coach Jason Smith says via Twitter that Arizona, Kentucky and Kansas have expressed interest in Xavier transfer Mark Lyons.”
And then this: “In a follow-up email, Jason Smith clarified it’s early in the process for Lyons. The interest from KU, UK and Arizona is ”very preliminary.’”
Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports reported last week that Lyons and Xavier coach Chris Mack met last week and determined that Lyons leave the school. On- and off-court issues were given as reasons. He has just one year of eligibility remaining. Lyons and Tu Holloway led Xavier to a Sweet 16 appearance this season. Xavier lost to Baylor, which lost to Kentucky in the South Region final.
