Update: NCAA has denied Connecticut’s appeal.
Jeff Goodman of CBS Sports tweeted this morning that former Connecticut forward Alex Oriakhi will meet with UK coach John Calipari today to talk about coming to Kentucky.
Oriakhi is transferring from the Huskies. His father had said that he would “definitely visit” North Carolina, Duke, Kentucky and Missouri.
Oriakhi is pursuing the transfer because Connecticut is banned from the NCAA Tournament next season because of poor APR scores. The school is appealing that ruling. Under NCAA rules, that would make him eligible immediately.
The SEC had moved to limit transfers who are eligible immediately, such as post-graduate transfers. But Goodman tweeted that he was told that “Oriakhi will be able to play at SEC school if he chooses an area of study that is not offered at UConn.”
Oriakhi averaged 6.7 points and 4.8 rebounds last season.

So what does UK offer that UConn doesn’t? I suppose he might puruse an Equine Studies major with a minor in Coal Economics and Bourbon Distilling Arts?
If I go Kentucky, I read more book?
Yes, this guy is trouble…and quite frankly, he’s not that great and his attitude is subject, at best.
