The Big Lead asks Bob Knight about Kentucky

The Big Lead says it got hold of Bob Knight’s cell phone number and asked the former Indiana coach and current ESPN analyst why he avoids saying the word “Kentucky” on the air.

Knight was none too pleased to be called on his cell phone.

It will be interesting to see if Knight has anything to say about Friday’s Kentucky-Indiana matchup, or if he avoids the subject entirely.

  1. Randall says:

Bob Knight will be wrong again tomorrow.

  2. Mark Liptak says:

Knight is entitled to say or not say whatever he wishes as a private citizen. However he is BEING PAID as an analyst for ESPN to talk college basketball.

At this point in time to not talk about UK because of a personal hated is absurd.

The better question is, why hasn’t a member of the mainstream media called out or contacted that organization to get a reason for how they allow him to do this.

I would be very interested in hearing the reasoning from them. (Of course the Eastern Sports Programming Network is probably giddy over the publicity this is generating…)

I respect Knight… who was a brilliant coach but it appears he is turning into a bitter, lonely, perhaps senile old man.
