SEC: UK the champ, but No. 2 seed still up in the air

Two SEC basketball games on tap tonight. Ole Miss travels to Arkansas for a 7 p.m. tipoff on ESPNU. The feature attraction happens at 9 p.m. when second-place Florida (10-4) travels to third-place Vanderbilt (9-5) on ESPN.

A road win by the Gators (10-4) would wrap up the No. 2 seed for next week’s SEC Tournament in New Orleans for Billy Donovan’s club. A Vanderbilt (9-5) win at Memorial Gym, however, opens the door to not just the Commodores but also Alabama and Tennessee, the two teams tied for fourth place at 8-6.

Here’s one scenario: A Vandy win tonight, a Tennessee win at LSU on Wednesday, and a UT win over Vanderbilt on Saturday would mean the Vols would end up with that coveted No. 2 seed.
