UK to hold televised scrimmage Wednesday

After Saturday night’s game at Vanderbilt, UK coach John Calipari said he would like to hold an open practice or some sort of scrimmage this week.

Looks like it could be a televised scrimmage on Wednesday.

WKYT-TV has sent out a programming message saying the station will televise a UK basketball scrimmage Wednesday from 3-5 p.m.

The release reads: Please make the following change for WKYT for Wednesday, February 15, 2012: 3:00-5:00 pm BIG BLUE LIVE: ALL ACCESS! (UK Basketball Scrimmage)

Calipari said on the SEC teleconference this morning that there will be some sort of open practice on Wednesday at Memorial Coliseum.

More details to come.

    John,

Have you EVER heard of something like this happening? A scrimmage/practice carried on national television (ESPNU) in the middle of February? Seems unprecedented. Big Blue Madness is one among many, but this has got to be unique, isn’t it?
