After the UK win, some number-crunching from Columbia

Some number-crunching from Columbia:

  • UK shot over 50 percent from the floor for the second straight game. The Cats shot 53.7 against Tennessee on Tuesday. They shot 51.6 tonight.
  • Kentucky’s three turnovers were the fewest by an SEC team in a conference game this year.
  • UK averaged 1.434 points per possession, highest since 1.493 against Hartford on Dec. 29, 2009.
  • South Carolina averaged 0.851 points per possession.
  • It was Darrin Horn’s worst loss, by margin, in his nine season as a head coach. That includes five at Western Kentucky and now four at South Carolina.
  • Terrence Jones is averaging 18 points per game over his last three games.
  • Jones has seven assists in his last two games. His four assists against South Carolina was one short of his career-high.
  • Anthony Davis has blocked 15 shots in his last two games. He blocked eight tonight.
  • Davis has made 21 of 23 shots over his last three games.
  • Davis is averaging 18.7 points per game over his last three games.
  • Doron Lamb made six-of-seven shots and scored 18 points. It was his highest point total since 26 against Samford back on Dec. 20.
  • Darius Miller had four assists, the ninth game this season in which he has had at least four.
  • Twany Beckham attempted his first shot of the season. It missed.
  • Eloy Vargas played 12 minutes, most since he logged 17 against Samford on Dec. 20.
  • Kyle Wiltjer took a team-high 14 shots. He made five and finished with 12 points.
  • It was Wiltjer’s first double-figure scoring game since he scored 24 against Loyola-Maryland on Dec. 22.
