By the numbers: Kentucky over Old Dominion

Twenty nerd-stats from Kentucky’s 62-52 win over Old Dominion.

1. Terrence Jones scored a season-low six points. He played 35 minutes and did not have an assist.

2. Darius Miller now has 18 assists in four games, an average of 4.5 per game. His 13 points was his highest scoring output since he scored 17 against Princeton in first round of NCAA tournament last year.

3. Through four games, Marquis Teague has 11 assists and 18 turnovers. He turned it over six more times against ODU.

4. After scoring 19 points in 24 minutes against Penn State, Kyle Wiltjer scored three in 11 minutes against ODU.

5. Michael Kidd-Gilchrist went from playing 19 minutes Saturday to 34 on Sunday.

6. Anthony Davis fouled out after only 20 minutes Sunday, but did score 11 points and grab nine rebounds.

7. Doron Lamb failed to crack double figures, scoring just eight points. He scored a game-high 26 Saturday. He did not have an assist or a turnover.

8. Eloy Vargas played a season-low six minutes.

9. The Cats committed a season-high 21 turnovers.

10. Teague (6) and Gilchrist (5) accounted for 11 of those 21.

11. UK averaged a turnover every 3.29 possessions, highest since it averaged one every 3.10 possessions against Morehead State on Dec. 13, 2009.

12. Kentucky shot 45.3 percent from the field, first time this young season they have shot less than 50 percent.

13. Old Dominion shot just 32.1 percent. No UK opponent thus far has shot better than Kansas’ 33.9.

14. The Cats made just four of 13 three-point shots for 30.8 percent.

15. UK again struggled at the line, making just 10 of 17 for 58.8 percent.

16. Kentucky averaged just 0.898 points per possession, another season-low.

17. A definite bright spot, UK won the glass 43-33.

18. Old Dominion’s Chris Cooper scored 17 points and grabbed 12 rebounds.

19. Old Dominion’s Bazemore was held to just 10 points. He was 2 of 11 from the floor.

20. The official stats listed neither team with a fast-break point.
