It was Michael Kidd-Gilchrist who earned most of the ink, or bytes, after UK’s eventual taming of Transylvania last night in the pretend opener at Rupp. Kidd-Gilchrist played well. Then John Calipari turned in the definitive quote of the night, saying the freshman has to be in the starting lineup. This could mean that Darius Miller, a senior, the MVP of last year’s SEC Tournament, could find himself coming off the bench. Cal said intensity marked the difference. Kidd-Gilchrist gives the Cats instant intensity.
