Comparing UK-U of L football by the numbers

Mark Story had interesting column this morning comparing Joker Phillips’ first year with Charlie Strong’s first year.

Personally, I’d give Strong a little more credit than Mark offers, but thought I’d look up some other numbers.

Here is how the two seasons compared, using the Sagarin Ratings.

The other statistical categories are by the latest NCAA statistical rankings.

Two very fine toilet bowl teams.

Wow….We really sucked this season. Joker’s gotta go. At least his name matches what our football team was this year.

Strong did more with less. But to bad for Louisville that he will be at the U next season (Miami)

WOW! Information of “ZERO” value for all to view! Make no mistake though, UL would drill UK if they played today! I personally have subscribed to “SAY NO TO BOWL” by officially declaring a “NO WATCH” policy on the “WHO GIVES A RIP COMPASS BOWL”!

UK would handily defeat UL if there were a rematch. UL played against terrible awful beyond bad Big East competition and squeeked out a 6-6 record. Even the lead columnist of the Louisville Courier Journal says that conference should not get an automatic spot in a BSC bowl for its champion, that is how awful that place is.
