what’s the deal w/the rugby style punts?
This is hopeless.
Rugby style punts? Ummm, we got 3 punts blocked by Florida last 2 games with them. Dughhh
Kentucky will never be able to get over the hump. It looks like they are playing to lose rather than win. There is no reason why they should be taking the cats to the woodshed every year. Oh well, basketball is right around the corner!
Was Joker thinking he needed to live up to his namesake? Not prepared.
How can you let a freshman score 6x out of the same widlcat formation?

It just keeps getting more embarrassing year after year living here in Florida and having to put up with UK’s insincere attempts to field an SEC caliber team.
Stop the madness–either spend the money and hire a big-time coach, or leave the SEC (in shame) and join a bad conference like the Big East or the ACC.

I know that Florida is a great football program, and it was apparant that the line of scrimmage is where we lost the game. However, I lost count of how many ten yard crossing routes over the middle we gave up. The defense is young, but adjustments have to be made throughout the game, but they were obviously not.
Did Joker sent FLA his playbook prior to the game or is he ill prepared to coach in the SEC? If he sent FLA the playbook, he got snookered in the exchange. How about plugging the middle with a linebacker. Duh! Absolutely no O-Line or D-secondary. 1. get a bonafide SEC coach; or 2. spend the money to recruit decent talent; or 3. join a conference where we can win; or 4 All of the above. The most ill prepared football team that UK has ever fielded!
Wow. So we either win at Florida or we’re not even SEC caliber and we need to fire our coach. Slight over-reaction there. We will still win 7-8 games and take a step up in the East. Go back to waiting for Midnight Madness and just forget about football like you always do this time of year.
This is embarassing. Do we really have to go through this year after year? Can’t the NCAA make a rule that lets you out of playing a team after it beats you for so many years in a row? Or can’t they at least limit drafting (er, recruiting) so many five and four star players on the same team? Until something like that happens, how will Kentucky ever compete with these teams?
Give it a rest. One away game at Florida into his SEC coaching carer and the naysayers can’t wait to jump on Coach Phillips. Never mind that Bill Curry, Hal Mummy, Guy Morriss, and Rich Brooks also fell short in that regard. And never mind that some of those results were way worse than this one. This was the same spread as last year – and that one was at home. The result stunk and there is a lot of work to do, but I still think Joker Phillips can and will get the job done.
I had no dillusions that we would beat Florida, but I was hoping that we would be competitive. Our D-Line has to step it up. Burton scored on two ten yard runs in a row going the same direction on the same play. Also, as mentioned before, the ten yard crossing routes killed our secondary. On offense, we just never got into any kind of rhythm. On a bright note, Matthews looked good. Despite the comments on the rugby style punt, the punts were pretty good. Our coverage just lacked a little on a couple of them. I do not think 7 wins is out of the question. With Georgia and Tenessee down, we have a good chance of finishing at 3rd in the east. You never know, we may pull of a shocker against SC. Here is to hoping.
Face it guys, we are not a foot ball school. We will never get the quality recriuts that Alabama or Florida or LSU or Auburn. We looked like a JV team. That realy hurts. Give it to Joker for the trick play. I admit its a sad way to concede defeat. GO CATS
