Hey I don’t know who wrote the “UK’s history in the NCAA Tournament” for the newspaper, but under under the photo is states “NCAA national championship rings have been awarded to seven UK teams, including the 1996 squad that finished 34-2. UK is second in national basketball championships, trailing UCLA’s 11.”
It is correct only if it included Division One teams only, if it includes all NCAA teams from all division then this is not correct. Including all division 2 and three teams, UK would be ranked at least third behind Kentucky Wesleyan College who has 8 NCAA Div. 2 titles.
