UK unveils new uniforms (we think); so what do you think?

Updated: Poll question added at bottom of post.

John Calipari just sent out a twit pic of photo shoot for Slam Magazine, which apparently has UK players in the new uniforms.

By the way, if you read comments, some think Wall’s jersey reads: “KENTCUKY”.

Updates: Walter’s Wildcat World has some tight shots of the unis. So does Kentucky Sports Radio.

    who cares? big deal

My first thought was “pants on the ground” — but it really doesn’t matter to me. I was hoping for a little more black, though, as it seems to be the color of choice for “tough” teams. I know that UK can’t really go that route, but I was thinking the desiger could work it out some way.

RD, apparently a lot of people do and so do the players.

I like the whole change of uniforms.

What happened to the all black uniforms they wore last year?

Again with the super long shorts (hate it) but other than that they are alright.

Looks like the inside of the UK Bookstore. Are the unis for sale?

Don’t care as long as they are Blue and White, no black

    “Kentucky” looks to be spelled wrong on Wall’s Jersey. K E N T C U K Y.

If you are going to wear your game “shorts” four inches below the knee, you might as well remove the snaps from the warm-up pants and wear those in the game. They look about the same. Or, you could have some class and some gumption, and wear your short just above the knee and not baggy, as the players in the NBA do. However, nothing looks as completely stupid and low-class as all the tattoos, so even a great uni couldn’t make up for that.

Wow, Rick, could you attack the players personally just a little bit more? It’s idiots like you that give the rest of the fan base a bad name. I wonder, if the players in that picture were all white, but had the tattoos, would you be saying the same thing?

And class used in the same sentence as the NBA? That’s a good one. BTW, the NBA actually mandates the length of it’s teams shorts and players can get fined for wearing them longer. But that’s neither here nor there. This is the style that the players of today like (myself included, and I’m 35 years old), so stop being an old biddy and get on board. You could always go be a fan of Indiana…I hear they like their shorts short up there.

Remember the blue jean uni’s? And, the saying was “it’s not the denim, it’s what’s in ‘em”. As long as we have players of this caliber, it really doesn’t matter what they are wearing.

After watching Syracuse and UCONN tonight, and seeing their uniforms and the new UK ones, Syracuse and UCONN’s jerseys are the same design as the new UK ones except for the colors. The tribal on the back and stripe up the side of the shorts. A few details different but the same. So Nike must have made new Uniforms for all the ELITE schools for March Madness. The UK jerseys aren’t LeBron’s so that leads me to think that they may be wearing different uniforms Saturday than these in the picture. But I’d say the rest of the year, they’ll be wearing these.

Sorry, they look like dresses to me.

The uniforms don’t mean a thing to me, as long as they are blue and white. I would like to ask one question though, what does it matter if they have tattoos or not? Does that mean they can’t play basketball? Who really cares about that, I mean really.

Spell Kentucky correctly, and I would like the pants somewhat shorter and closer to the body. They look like a skirt when the players are standing still. Otherwise, I don’t care if they wear pajamas so long as they show up

I wish NCAA would also regulate the ‘length’ of the shorts. Looks like my 8 yr old wearing my nephew’s college basketball shorts. I really like the holographic wildcat and references to the championships on the jersey. What MORON let them put Wall in front with a typo on his jersey. IDIOTS! (or crazy like a fox-probably did it on purpose to drum up some national press-still…it makes us look like stupid hicks).

As for the tattoos-Cory, who’s the racist here? You’re the one assuming that Rick is white bc of his comment. I don’t care for the tattoos either. Has nothing to do with the color of the skin it’s on or the color of MY skin. You can assume that I’m a racist, making comments about people whose skin color is different from my family’s, too. You’d be WRONG… grow a braincell, dude. Quit assuming that everyone is as racist as you are.

My nephew has one-it’s a Bible verse, and I still don’t care much for permanent tats. Everyone has a preference. You’re an idiot for accusing Rick of racism bc he doesn’t like tats.

I hated Duke’s uni’s with the crazy stuff embedded in it, neither UCONN or Syracuse’s. So WOW, UK finally looks as tacky as those schools, which I personally dislike..STRONGLY. UK should be the trendsetter, not the little gal who has to wear her older sisters prom dress. The present uni’s were original, and cool enough. now we’re cool like ‘Conn, or cool like ‘Cuse. I shudder when I say it, cool like DUKE? Blah. At least when Converse had the UK contract, they showed some originality and creativity…
