Notes from Kentucky’s romp over the Razorbacks

Some notes from UK’s convincing win over Arkansas:

  • John Calipari broke Adolph Rupp’s record of 64 consecutive conference wins, including tournaments.
  • UK has now won 10 straight over the Razorbacks.
  • C.M. Newton is the only UK grad to beat his alma mater as coach. The other eight ex-Cats are 0-17 against Kentucky. John Pelphrey is now 0-3.
  • The attendance of 24,356 is the third-best of the season. and the third-best in Rupp Arena history.
  • Darius Miller scored a team-high and career-high 18 points.
  • Miller’s previous high was 17 versus Tennessee on Feb. 21, 2009.
  • Miller made 4-of-6 threes, most since Dec. 29 vs Hartford, also 4-of-6.
  • Kentucky had 22 offensive rebounds to Arkansas 23 defensive rebounds.
  • This is only the third time in school history that UK has started a season with 19 straight wins.
  • DeMarcus Cousins scored 16 points and grabbed 14 rebounds in just 17 minutes.
  • Cousins had 10 point and nine rebounds in just nine first-half minutes.
  • This was all despite Cousins chipping two teeth in the opening minutes.

  • Patrick Patterson was 2-of-9 from floor, first time under 50 since 6-15 against UConn on Dec. 9.
  • Patterson came into the game second nationally in field goal percentage at 63 percent.
  • Perry Stevenson played 11 minutes, most since 14 vs. Hartford on Dec. 29.
  • Stevenson scored a season-high six points.
  • Eric Bledsoe scored 10 points for his seventh straight game in double figures.
  • Bledsoe committed six turnovers, most since at Indiana on Dec. 12
  • Darnell Dodson has made 5 of 10 threes over the last three games.
  • Josh Harrellson saw his first playing time and scored his first points (4) since Hartford on Dec. 29
  • Ramon Harris played 14 minutes, most since 22 vs. Hartford on Dec. 29.
  • Harris made his first three-pointer since Louisville on Jan. 2.
  • Harris had five rebounds, most since 6 vs. Austin Peay on Dec. 19.
  • Jon Hood saw his first action since Hartford on Dec. 29; first points since Drexel on Dec. 21.
  • Mark Krebs first action since Hartford on Dec. 29.
  • In his last two games, four of DeAndre Liggins’ seven shots have been threes.
  • Daniel Orton has blocked nine shots in 37 minutes over last 3 games.
  • John Wall contributed seven assists and two turnovers.
  • Kentucky shot 33 three-pointers, making 10.
  • The Cats have now made at least one three-pointer in 730 straight games.
  • Kentucky’s most points in SEC game since beating Vandy 101-44 in 2003.
  • Kentucky outrebounded Arkansas 59-39.
  • Kentucky averaged 1.369 points per possession in first half, 1.234 for the game.
  • Kentucky held Arkansas to 0.836 points per possession.
