Video: Calipari on 2,000 wins and playing Drexel

Before practice on this Sunday, UK coach John Caliapri met with the media, where in this video he talks about Monday night’s opportunity for the school’s 2,000th win, and playing against former assistant, Brusier Flint, now the head coach at Drexel, which just happens to be Monday’s foe. Cal brings out the “happiness is in direct porportion to the other coach’s misery” quote again, but he doesn’t throw in the “they can’t pay me enough.” He also talks about how important it was to beat North Carolina to 2,000.

BBL: Men ready for milestone; Women ready for U of L

Big Blue Links for Sunday:

Jerry Tipton of the H-L writes game story on UK win over Austin Peay: “When cheerleaders later carried the giant flag with the interlocking “U” and “K” onto the court and the pep band struck up the theme to the movie 2001, this monolithic symbol of Kentucky basketball moved fans only to stand and clap as if required to sing Jingle Bells for the 2,000th time.”

Wildcat Blue Blog thinks Memphis writers are stalking Calipari: “If you think Tiger Woods is having a tough time from his ex-dalliances, you clearly have not met John Calipari’s bitter ex’s. If you thought that Lindsey Lohan and Samantha Ronson had knock down, drag them out breakups, you never witnessed the drama from John Calipari’s exes. If you thought that lady that kept breaking into David Letterman’s house was wacky, well that does not even touch the level of wackiness from John Calipari’s exes.”

Here’s the Herald-Leader photo slide show of UK win over Austin Peay.

Jennifer Smith reports that Victoria Dunlap is probable for today’s game with U of L: ” Victoria Dunlap, who suffered a concussion in practice a week ago, was upgraded from questionable to probable by Coach Matthew Mitchell on Saturday afternoon. The 6-foot-1 junior, UK’s leading scorer and rebounder, went through a full practice on Saturday.”
