Before today’s practice, Kentucky coach John Calipari held his usual day-before media meeting to talk about the upcoming opponent, and his team, of course. This time Cal talked about Kentucky’s matchup with Connecticut on Wednesday night, ESPN, 9:30, in the SEC/Big East Invitational. Calipari says he would not be surprised if his team is punched in the mouth.
Someone should come up with a list of Cal-isms. “Punched in the mouth”, “think they poop ice cream”, etc. Perhaps that was Billy G’s problem; he was constrained to “we got whipped” and “we need to play tougher”. Coach Cal seems to have struck a good balance of mixing the oldies in with a new one every once in a while to keep things interesting.
