Kentucky notes from the win over the Heels:
- Kentucky is 8-0 for the first time since 1992-93.
- Patrick Patterson has scored 19 points in each of the three games he has played against North Carolina. Pat had 19 points and seven rebounds today. In three games, Patterson is 8-of-12, 8-of-11 and 8-of-12 from the floor against the Heels.
- North Carolina shot 38.8 percent. Kentucky is 32-2 in its last 34 games when it holds a team under 40 percent from the field.
- Eric Bledsoe’s 17 minutes was a season-low. His previous low was 25 minutes against UNC-Asheville. The freshman said after the game is still bothered by his ankle injury suffered earlier in the year.
- John Wall had a season-high seven turnovers. (But he played very, very well.)
- UK averaged 0.913 points per possession, the first time this season the Cats have been under a point per possession this year.
- UK shot 44.4 percent from the field, which was a season low. The Cats shot 44.6 against Stanford.
- Kentucky committed 21 turnovers, the fourth time this year it has had at least 20 turnovers. UK committed 24 against Morehead, 23 versus Sam Houston, 20 versus Cleveland State and 21 today.
- North Carolina averaged 0.902 points per possession. The Cats have held their last five opponents under a point per possession.
- UK was outscored 41-25 in the second half. That was the most the Cats have been outscored in the second half since South Carolina outscored UK 61-45 on Feb. 7, 2007. Kentucky won that game, too, 95-89. The Cats led 50-28 at the half that day.
- DeMarcus Cousins’ five points were a season-low. He scored seven in the season-opener against Morehead State.
- In his last three games, Darius Miller has taken 23 shots. Seventeen of those have been three-pointers. He has made seven of 17 threes, and eight of 23 shots overall.
