Over on YouTube, with the first video of Rich Brooks’ post-game press conference following the Georgia game, there is the following comment:

The players are singing ” Ice Cream Paint Job ” in the background. Awesome
“Ice Cream Paint Job” is a song by the rapper Dorrough, though my youngest son informs me that Lil’ Wayne has done his own version, and may be doing another version. What struck me was the pure joy in the locker room after the game. In fact, when the Kentucky traveling media (the H-L’s Chip Cosby, the C-J’s Brett Dawson, the Cats Pause’ Darrell Bird, the Kentucky Kernel’s B.W. Jones, “The Mayor of UK Football” Lonnie Demaree and myself) arrived in the media room, we could hear Rich Brooks leading his team in cheers through the closed doors of the locker room next door. It was a terrific scene to witness, even if you couldn’t see it. Then in the press conference, you could still hear the players yelling, chanting, and, apparently, singing “Ice Cream Paint Job.” Here’s the video if you haven’t seen it.
A side note to this: You might be wondering why sometimes the videos on this blog are in the “Kentucky.com” format and sometimes they are in the “YouTube” format. (Once in a great while, they are even in the “Vimeo” format.) Obviously, we want the page views for Kentucky.com, and for this blog. Selfish, perhaps, but true. But YouTube’s upload works much quicker. So sometimes I’ll post first in YouTube, then switch it over to the Kentucky.com format.
That’s why you’ll sometimes see the “video has been removed by user” message when you try to view the video on other sites. It’s not that I’m upset with other blogs, or singling out other blogs. It’s just that we prefer you come to this site first. But I don’t always make the switch. Saturday night, I left the videos in YouTube format on the blog. I did it for a couple of reasons. Friends have told me they can access the videos on their iPhone if it remains in YouTube. And second, I wanted more people to see them.
This video business is all still a work in progress. Hope you’ve enjoyed them so far in both football and basketball. Thanks for watching them.
