To step out of the sports realm for a second — indulge me — today marks a momentous occasion.
It is Bruce Springsteen’s 60th birthday.
“The Boss” was born on Sept. 23, 1949 in Freehold, New Jersey.
Over on Twitter, we’ve succumbed to a mini-poll on what is your favorite Bruce song.
My pick: “Prove It All Night.”
And your favorite Springsteen song?

I really like “Better Days.” Great song. Great artist.
Many bash the “Human Touch/Lucky Town” E-Streetless Band period, but there’s some good stuff there, especially on “Lucky Town.” And “Better Days” is one of the better cuts.

Candy’s Boy - true classic and even better than the later modified Candy’s Room
to john dorman - Youngstown? Next you’ll be saying “The Ghost of Tom Joad” is on your list of favs. BTW-I’m a classic Bruce fan, anything after “The River” is just drivel.
I wouldn’t agree that everything after “The River” is drivel, but get your point. I’m one that likes “Tunnel of Love” better than “BTUSA” overall.
I’m a huge Springsteen fan. Hard to pick a favorite……but I’ll go with Thunder Road (with Jungleland and Darkness on the Edge of Town a close 2nd and 3rd).
Tough to pick a favorite, but I’ll go with Born to Run, Badlands, and Thunder Road, with Darlington County a close 4th.
Happy Birthday, Boss!
Picking just one of the Boss’s masterpieces is tough, but for me it would have to be Jungle Land. That song has it all.
Too many favorites for me to pick one specifically - I’d have to go with something from Born To Run, so I’m going to duck it and list my wifes’ favorite - POINT BLANK.
Kinda cheesy but definitely “The Honeymooners.” I get the hugest smile every time I hear it.
Wow, “The Honeymooners,” what a great, obscure pick.
