Tennessee would be the same whether dear ole’ dad (Monte Kiffin) was there or not. Had the VOLS not fired John Chavis, he would have stayed at TN, even if his mentor and close friend Phil Fulmer had not been let go. To that end, we would still have had a top 10 defense this year.
I get a little tired of all the sports columnists at the Herald-Leader constantly taking potshots at the VOLS. You Wild-RATs fans just can seem to accept you will never have the football tradition that the VOLS will and it just eats you up doesn’t it?
So take a little time (about 10 weeks or so) and relish in the fact that Kentucky will not win another game for 4 weeks, then they might squeak by a couple of opponents, go into the latter part of the season with a losing record and just hope they aren’t 5-6 in the last game. Then the RATS will miss a bowl game.
If you can’t stop Louisville from running the ball, who can you stop?

You’ve convinced me that either you have lost it completely or you are so obsessed with UK that you can’t think straight. What does UK have to prove?
You are confused on why the Cats were 14 point favorites over the Cards. They were favorties due to Louisville being that bad, not that Uk was that good. That game proved 2 things: Louisville is as bad as advertised and Uk is just as bad, maybe a tad bit better. I take it that you haven’t noticed that Florida is 3 TD favorites next week even with the flu. I know you haven’t because you spent all of last week reminding people that Uk was 14 point favorites over the Cards. (Funny how the Florida spread won’t get mentioned as much this week).
And UK will never crack the cement ceiling of the SEC’s upper echelon. You guys were excited to go to a bowl game last year and you were last in the SEC East. Only won 2 SEC games last year and currently have the 2 longest losing streaks to a team in the nation. Gimme a break…Your first sentence suggests that Florida knows just how you guys feel. Trust me, they don’t have a clue how you guys feel. They don’t go through the same type of stuff. Their goals are much higher.
And with 4 straight losses on the horizon, I don’t think UK has too much to prove……We already know what to expect from them, except maybe you.
P.S. Remember when UK finally cracked the Top 25 a couple of years ago. I think it only lasted for a week or two, but you had started putting an excerpt in the paper about how the Top 25 fared over each weekend. Why did you stop? Um….nevermind, I know. You are waiting on UK to make the Top 25 in football again. Yeah, they have nothign to prove. I’m sure we will see it during basketball season though…
at least UK will be bowling again this year!
Wow, Tennessee loses to Florida (an apparently sick Florida) and you’d think they won the national championship. Congrats Vols on losing to a bunch of sick people. Sounds to me like they’re starting to realize that Mr. Kiffin is only going to be singing Rocky Top after he beats up some high school teams. The loss to Florida didn’t boost Kiffins credibility, it just provided him another opportunity to look like a fool.
Hey Vol fans, here’s a realistic end of the season guess for you, 6-7 and on probation after Mr. Kiffin tries to boost his team by cheating.
Wah Wah Wah Kevin. You lost to Fla and now your crying. And your expertise in f-ball is? Just a couple of more Vol Clowns. You two losers need to read other SEC towns papers. Just as many shots at the Cats if not more than the HL writers give. Go back to Knoxville, Greyhound is ready when you are.
