We return to the Media Approval Rating feature with WLEX sports reporter/director Alan Cutler, a long-time staple on the local television sports scene. I know, poor Alan received some national publicity for trying to run down Billy Gillispie after the basketball coach had just been fired. That episode went viral. But Billy has had some other troubles since then. Alan is on his second go-round in Lexington after leaving for a brief period to work in Pittsburgh.
So what say you on Alan Cutler, thumbs-up or thumbs-down?
Previously: Kent Spencer - Dave Baker - Mary Jo Perino - Mike Cameron - Chris Cross - Dick Gabriel - Larry Glover.

Approve, only because he chased BCG though!!
Alan is a super sweet-heart when he needs to be. He’s an amazing father, and an old school-journalist. He may pretend to be hard knocks..but, he has a heart of gold.
i don’t think he does a very good job. actually, i think he is annoying. too many stupid questions, and very unprofessional (i.e. chasing BCG).
Honest, Hard working, professional, dedicated, fun.
Alan puts his heart into his reporting and does a terrific job! He keeps the sports world interesting to whomever is listening or watching and usually provides a different spin on things…leaving us with something to think about.
Alan Cutler… worst ever, no qualifications… the… worst… ever. Loves himself WAY too much. A disgrace to the profession and an embarrassment to the community. I’ve never felt so strongly about a member of the media in my life. I have felt this way for years, by the way.
Are we rating him on his journalism ability or his running ability?
Alan Cutler is the consumate professional, I have known him since the days when he had a bushy head of hair and it was all the same darker color. His passion for sports and telling the stories of those who play, coach and watch is incredible. As a decidely non-sports fan I find his reporting to be interesting and and engaging. And his pursuit of Billy G. was no different than his pursuit of getting the story to his loyal fans. Alan Cutler is tops in my book!
Alan Cutler is a douche. I had an altercation with him at fresh market about a year ago. Why do local news people feel that they are special? Well alan cutler you are not and maybe you should be careful who you are a (jerk) to, or can you not taste it already….eeeeewwwww.
