Approval Ratings: Chris Cross

Chris Cross

Day three of the Media Approval Ratings brings us Chris Cross, who co-hosts the Sports Huddle on WLXG-1300 in Lexington, as well as those Castle Jewlery commercials on television. Chris is a long-time veteran of the radio airwaves, and makes few bones about rooting for the home team. (We’ll do his partner, Mike Cameron, tomorrow.)

So what say you on Chris Cross, thumbs-up or thumbs-down?

How is this guy still on the radio?! He hosts the single worst show in the history of talk radio. is it possible to live in Lexington and know as little about UK sports as he does?

Chris is alright and I know they have to pay bills and this is a little off subject but he verbally does alot of the sponsers ads himself and I personally would rather him just hit a button and hear a tape to give hsi voice a rest. Cross is a big Yankees fan so during the baseball season he harps on them alot.

worst I’ve ever heard in sports talk. But it still beats Hannity or Leland Conway on the drive home.

He is absolutely HORRIBLE. I listen to ESPN Radio all day…until 4pm. He has nothing of note to say. I would rather drive in complete silence than listen to him.

There is not one thing in the universe that is worse than Chris Cross on the radio. He has a terrible voice. He knows next to nothing about any sport, especially UK athletics. He is mind-numbingly annoying.

I would rather listen to Fran Drescher laughing while she ran her fingernails down a chalkboard in a room with 50 screaming babies than listen to one minute of that pitiful excuse of a radio show.

Brutally bad! The combination of him and Mike Cameron makes for the most amatuerish radio I have ever heard! I know you have to take care of your sponsors, but he is nothing but a whore.

Hard working guy who has too much on his plate to do sports talk well. He has to sell ads, cut spots, and virtually run a broadcast empire himself, cut him some slack for sometimes not doing deep show prep. I\’d guess most of the people responding here have other sports-talk favorites and thus put CC down as a competitor, or else they\’re good-ole-boys irritated by that aggressively yankee voice. Chin up, Chris. You\’re doing a hard job well, even if you\’re not appreciated here.

Do not make the mistake to ask chris ‘how are you today?’. That stupid thing he does is beyond annoying. I’m more likely to tune in when he is not on the radio.

How is he still on the radio? What about getting Ryan Lemon? He’s much better and he would be a little more knowledgeable about the subject.
