Two of our guys are feeling a good bit relieved. Although it would appear that Harrellson and Liggins may play very little next year, the year of practice competition will greatly enhance their value. They will give us quality depth and Liggins could yet evolve into a fine player – possibly a starter after next season.
I am disappointed that it did not work out of Galloway. I felt he was not given a fair chance last year by Billy G. With Galloway and Pilgrim leaving is this a reflection on Billy G’s poor evaluation / recruitment of talent or his lack of ability to develop talent? Or both?
I feel it is more his lack of ability to develop talent….he was too concerned about how tough they were.
This is all Tubby’s Fault. Billy Gillispie was the saviour of the UK Basketball Program and now we have some squid running everyone off for players that will be on the roster for only one year and can not pass their SATs. Damn it Tubby!
Actually, it was under Tubby’s watch the talent level fell off. Tubby was a great coach and could cover for a while. Billy G was never a coach and he couldn’t motivate the worst of players. UK should have never been without talent. The style change brought on by Tubby changed the face of UK. It had nothing to do with his ability to Coach. I just wish Tubby had not been so stubborn about recruiting and style. BCG was simply a mistake!!!

s.smith you are a ****off. Posted like a true wanker.
I see that steve and s.smith have a good handle as to what is going on in UK Basketball. However, I disagree with Steve that Billy was never a coach. Remember when Joe Crawford said. ” Billy Gillispie is a great Coach, I owe him alot.”??? Coach Calipari is clearing out BCGs talent to make room for his own talent. The BCG and Tubbies type talent are not a “good fit” for Coach Calipari’s system.
