Palm Beach Post claims John Wall will pick Miami or UK

Jorge Milian of the Palm Beach Post is reporting that the nation’s No. 1 prospect, and enigma, John Wall told Miami coach Frank Haith that he will choose between the Hurricanes and the Wildcats of Kentucky when it comes time to make a college choice.

You would think maybe it was past time, but, oh well.

Wall visited Miami last weekend. He is at North Carolina Central today for an unofficial visit to that traditionally black school in Durham. He has said he hopes to carve his list of schools under consideration to three or four by Monday. But I wouldn’t keep my fingers crossed.

Here’s an excerpt from Milian’s story:

One inside source told me that John Wall, a 6-foot-4 guard from Raleigh (N.C.) Word of God Christian Academy, informed UM coach Frank Haith that his choice would come down to two schools – Kentucky and Miami. Wall visited UM last weekend.

We may end up with Wall and Bledsoe. My oh my !! John – the most perplexing recruiting issue to me right now is why we are not offering Lance Stephenson. He almost seems to be waiting for us to step up, but apparently we have no interest. Why so if we were so taken with Henry and he is of similar caliber?

John – this is off subject but why are we not offering Lance Stephenson? There is speculation he would have strong interest but we apparently have none. Why so since he is of similar caliber to Henry?

I suppose no room for Stephenson since Dodson hopped on board.

We are not offering Stephenson because it is widely viewed that he lacks character, is a taker so to speak.

I was trying to find a link to this, but wasn’t he suspended (more than once) this season?

Yup, I don’t think we are offering Stevenson because he has attitude problems. Plus we don’t need him since Meeks plays the same position and is likely returning for next season. oh and we are about to get a verbal for 2010 from a 5 star recruit from Maryland who also is a shooting guard.

Google Lance Stephenson attitude problem and you’ll see why Cal isn’t interested in that kid.

    http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2009/writers/the_bonus/03/27/lance.stephenson/index.html

“When asked if becoming a father and going through the pending court case affected him, Stephenson said, “I’m focused on basketball, not off the court things.”

I think this pretty much says it all.
