John Wall says to look for his list by Friday

John Wall tells Tim Stevens of the Raleigh News and Observer that he hopes to have his list cut to three or four schools by Friday.

The schools on his consideration list now are thought to be Kentucky, Duke, Miami, North Carolina State, Miami, Baylor and possibly Kansas.

As for whether North Carolina is on the list, Wall said, “I don’t know where I stand with Carolina now,” Wall said. “I spoke with them one time. I haven’t talked to Coach Williams since.”

I think Coach Calipari should forget John Walls and plan next season without him. He is dragging this thing out way too long as far as I’m concerned.

yea right john wall is worth it. cause we have no PG and with no PG we wont get to the final four

I am sure this is a hard decision but to continue to drag it out is a little annoying. Why reduce the number to three or four and drag that out for a couple more weeks? Does anyone remember a recruit taking this long? I think Ron Mercer took a while anyone else?

remember that this is a huge step in an 18 year olds life….he has 10 coaches telling him how great he is and how great their school is…bad things happen when you make a snap decesion and this kid should be commended for taking his time and making the correct choice for himself…. and as wildcat fans we should all know that when snap decesions are made they are not always the best

Those getting tired of waiting should remember, there’s nothing else to do for awhile; spring FB practice is over, the baseball team is going nowhere, the NFL draft is over…we need something to consume our interest! Let’s just enjoy it along with the young man (who has already learned how to enjoy the late spring season!).

Patterson and Jai Lucas did the same thing with us 2 years sgo. They want their moment in the spotlight. To say we should not take him because of this is stupid because under that principle we should have told Patterson to piss off and I don’t think anybody wishes we would’ve done that.

Bad things happen when you can’t make a decision! Enough already with a list. Pick a school and go there. Final Four can happen without Wall. And who’s to say U of K goes to the final four with him. Enough with wall go get a PG and be done with it. Let him go some where else, for one year. And yes I am a U of K fan & Alumni. But U of K is bigger than Wall.

There are other PG’s waiting to see what happens with Kentucky and Wall. But they won’t wait forever. Forget Wall and get someone that really wants to play for Kentucky!

Bledsoe will be on campus in Memphis tomorrow. Wall won’t make a decision until June. Bledsoe won’t wait that long. And don’t give me that business about snap decisions. Wall has been in high school for 5 years. If he doesn’t know by now where he wants to go then we should be worried about his decision making ability.

Just trust Coach Cal. He knows what he’s doing. He’s doing what he said he would do: get the “best of the best”. If he wants to wait on Wall’s decision that’s what he should do.

chukas14 I agree with you I would offer Bledsoe a scholarship now! And help wall shorten his list. I feel Bledsoe would fit our program better.

Bledsoe now scheduled to visit UK this weekend following his Memphis visit.

Um, why not go for both Bledsoe and Wall?

I’ll reiterate that Patterson did the same thing his senior and I think everyone is pretty pleased with how that turned out. Does anyone here believe that Pat doesn’t love Kentucky? Come on.

If all of the major colleges would go ahead and fill their roster, there would not be a place for wall and that would stop this bull. It is not right to wait until the last minute and tell one of our regular players we don’t have a place for you now. It may be to late for him to transfer to someplace else. If a player cannot decide move on.

Look, this kid (from what I hear is great) but it’s time to pay the piper….This is a big decision for and 18 yr old but come’on ….. I have been involved in college basketball and I hope this kid isn’t just holding out to try and get some ..how can I put it… economic stimulus. By the way, I now live in Memphis and I’m not near as popular as I use to be….but you know what…I don’t really care….GO COACH CAL!!!!!

To say Wall is a one and done is to compare him to D-Wade and and D-Rose…..so maybe he is and maybe he isn’t….my thoughts are that one and dones are only worried about their NBA draft position and not necessarily the school they are playing for….we would be better off to just let these guys go to the NBA or overseas or wherever they want rather than pamper them during the recruiting process and watch them pad their stats for the next level….

  17. 17 Jim April 30, 2009 12:30 pm at 12:30 pm

Wall has an ego even larger than his talent. He has said and done certain things that indicate he might not be the most positive motivational force on a team, no matter how good he is. He is arrogant, to say the least, and I’ll leave it at that.

He also has an “AAU Handler” and while people will object to that terminology, all of us know that it’s the truth. I think both duke & n.c. have lost interest.
He should go to U.C. State. I really don’t care as long as he stays away from Kentucky.

We should set our sights on Bledsoe. Before he gives up on us!

Here is a thought………..if you are going to be a one and gone….why not go to a school like Radford or Wofford or one of those directional schools….the classes might be easier….you’re basically just killing time anyway and what better way to pad your stats than competition that really isn’t that good…you might even be able to skate by the whole 2nd semester without even going to class………
