Forgot to include this with the SEC links: Pat Forde over at espn.com reports that Richard Pitino is leaving his father’s staff at Louisville to join Billy Donovan at Florida.

Excerpt:

A source close to the Louisville program said Richard Pitino could one day be considered head-coaching material, and going to work somewhere else could enhance his resume. Richard Pitino previously worked at Providence, Northeastern and Duquesne.

I can’t blame him. Donovan is a more successful coach.

I think its great that these coaches can get their sons into coaching, this kid never played a real game in his life and with his name he gets a job. Tubby would have let him come to minnesota but he had to take Saul himself. Its always been the bosses kid that gets the job. I remember on my job when a boss hired one of the players at college’ so he could be here to see his son play.

Wonder if this has anything to do with the FBI investigation of extortion with dad Rick???

    Inquiring minds want to know.
