Alex Tyus is leaving Florida

At a morning press conference, Florida coach Billy Donovan announced that Gators’ center Alex Tyus intends to transfer.

The Gainesville Sun has a brief here, but should follow with more later.

    Sentinel columnist Mike Bianchi wonders why Gator basketball wasn’t taken seriously. Today’s Orlando Sentinel has Tim Tebow’s powder puff football game on the front page of the sports section and the Gator basketball transfers on the back page. I kid you not.
