Orton tells blog he’s going to be at Kentucky

Practicing for the Jordan Brand Classic, Daniel Orton told Zagsblog that he will be at Kentucky next season.

Excerpt:

“I’m still at Kentucky, I’m still at Kentucky,” said Orton, the No. 4 center in the Class of 2009. “I’m going to stay here.”

When asked if he ever considered leaving after John Calipari took over for the fired Billy Gillispie, Orton said, “There was that time that from when Coach G got fired, I was little frustrated with everything. There was a thought of having to go back through the recruiting process, which is a little stressful. But I just kind of dealt with it all.”

In the end, he opted to stay with Calipari: “Coach Cal’s a great guy and he just seems like a great coach,” Orton said.

Wow. The rotation down in the post will be interesting next year. Patterson, Orton, Cousins, Stevenson, Pilgrim (?).

Good for Kentucky, bad for Harrellson, imo.

Fantastic news. But bad news for Harrellson, who should also take the strong hint Coach Cal left recently when he said something along the lines of ‘if you’re a lumbering big man and all you do it set picks and shoot jumpers I have no room for you.’

dont look do good for Stewart or Harrellson if you ask me. But with the talent that we havecoming in next year I can handle it. No matter what though, I would like to say thanks to both for their efferts at UK thus far and maybe in the future. Same thing for Porter, I thought he needed to go but still yet thanks for everything. Go CATS, and go Coach Cal!!!!

Thank goodness. I hope Perry and Josh Harrellson never see the light of day off the bench. I mean with Pat, Demarcus, Orton, and Pilgrim, that is already too much talent to let those scrubs see any PT. #8 here we come.
