Coach Cal needs to slow down!!! It used to be that I could come home and take a couple of minutes and check the internet for any UK basketball news. Then could watch a few minutes of local sports. Now UK is everywhere. First Cal is on ESPN, then on ESPNU, and when he is not on they are talking about him. It seems like most internet sports sites have something about UK basketball each day, but nothing about them signing any middle schoolers.
I guess not too many people were able to watch Conference USA games last year, but Coach Cal plays mainly man-to-man. He is not too stubborn to play zone. He does press some, but not like Nolan Richardson and Rick Pitino’s UK days and certainly not like Billy G’s lets have one man pressure the person getting the inbound pass and retreat as soon as he catches it press (never understood why he did that). Memphis was a very good defensive team this year…except against Missouri.
