The New York Times has a Harvey Aaraton column on the John Calipari-Kentucky marriage.
Here’s a good quote from Chris Douglas-Roberts, the ex-Memphis Tiger now with the Nets:
“Kentucky is a great opportunity,” Douglas-Roberts said. “They need a big name, a high-profile coach to get players. And when it comes to recruiting, he’ll always have the top prospects in the country, no matter what school he’s at.”

Calipari calling former UK coaches. I wonder if he wants their input before deciding to accept the job or is he reaching out to them to get advice on how to handle things?
Rick Bozich said Calipari called Joe B. Hall and told him he was coming to Kentucky.

The nation should no longer say that Kentucky is too fanatical about basketball. Chanel 5 (wmc-tv) in Memphis has a helicopter showing live shots of Coach Cal’s home….and every now and then shows the road barricaded with all the news vans.
