43 Jared Carter 7-2 270 Sr. Georgetown -- graduated
We have 19 players potentially coming back. Who are the walk ons? It would be nice if the roster included that info. Anyway, it may be time to ask the in state guys on scholarship to "walk on" (just Miller I think) like Pitino used to have guys do to make room. Grant money usually covers everything for them anyway. In state tuition is cheap at UK. Otherwise, there is the Meeks/Patterson question. If they return, we need to remove 6 people? Tough to do. I could see some tranfers (Harris maybe, Porter maybe, Stewart likely, Stevenson maybe, maybe Liggins). The Jucos are in tough spot. They can't really transfer I don't think. Their eligibility would be gone.
11 Adam Delph 6-1 161 Fr. Louisville
3 y-Kevin Galloway 6-7 215 Jr. Sacramento, Calif
14 Mark Halsell 5-11 182 Fr. St. Charles, Mo.
55 Josh Harrellson 6-10 265 So. St. Charles, Mo.
22 Ramon Harris 6-7 218 Jr. Anchorage, Alaska
12 Mark Krebs 6-5 207 Jr. Newport
34 DeAndre Liggins 6-6 202 Fr. Chicago
23 Jodie Meeks 6-4 208 Jr. Norcross, Ga.
1 Darius Miller 6-7 223 Fr. Maysville
54 Patrick Patterson 6-9 235 So. Huntington, W.Va. -- stay I hope, but if he goes pro it helps with scholarships
30 Dwight Perry 6-1 173 Jr. Durham, N.C.
42 x-Matt Pilgrim 6-8 233 So. Cincinnati
13 Michael Porter 6-3 198 Jr. Modesto, Calif. -- I would hate to see him go just b/c I like him, but he may never see the floor next year.
2 Matt Scherbenske 6-1 178 Jr. Lexington, Ky.
10 Landon Slone 6-3 188 Fr. Paintsville
21 Perry Stevenson 6-9 207 Jr. Lafayette, La.
15 A.J. Stewart 6-7 218 So. Jacksonville, Fla.
20 Jarvis Walker 6-3 215 Jr. Chicago

We already had a scholarship problem. We had 16 players for 13 positions under Billy G. That was without any of the Memphis recruits coming.

John,

The scholly situation is going to be one tangled web, what with us being over the player limit now, and the possibility of signed players following Cal from Memphis. But, if you've got to have problems, this one is preferable to a whole lot of others I can think of.. Let's just get this Deal Done!

The scolarship question is quite intersting. I'm not sure I have the facts, but I we need to decide who we Rod Rhodes out of town to make room for 3 new McDonald's All Americans?

John,

Cal will be a nice bridge for Travis in about five years ;) if Cal is really coming, of course.

Surely the Wes issue was discussed. Mitch learned yet?

Based on what I've read John seems concerned about Calipari's past -- a legitimate concern -- but I don't want to put words in his mouth. I would be curious to hear if John feels strongly against hiring Calipari? Just curious.

I have mixed feelings. He provides a huge boost in recruiting, excitement, etc. But you have to keep your eye on him. He'll be much more in the spotlight now. More will be watching him.
