I am just wondering, is there a way for UK to win the East? Given the numbers, I am not sure UK can garner the 1 seed in any way. A 2 might be possible, but the way I see it, either South Carolina or Tennessee would have to lose 2 games for UK to slide into the 2 spot right? Someone give me their take on this. Thanks and Go Big Blue!

lOOKS AS IF SOUTH CAROLINA HAS THE EASIEST REMAINING GAMES.

We win the division and get a one seed only if we win out, South Carolina loses both of its remaining games and UT loses to Alabama on Sunday. We’d then be in a two way tie with UT and get the nod because we swept them. Not likely.

Alex is right. To win the East, UK would need to win its remaining two, South Carolina lose its remaining two and Alabama beat Tennessee on Sunday. If Tennessee, South Carolina and Kentucky were to all end up 10-6, all three would be 2-2 against the other two. Tennessee would get the nod with an 8-2 division record. Kentucky would be the No. 2 seed with a 7-3 division mark. South Carolina would wind up third at 6-4. Or at least I think that’s right.

That looks right to me too. Our most likely first round bye scenario is for USC to beat UT Thursday. Then if we win out, we are locked in on second place. All of us getting to 10-6 would do it too, as you said.
I’d rather be talking about our NCAA seed this time of year, wouldn’t you?
