Miami waiting for word on McClinton

According to the Palm Beach Post, Miami is still waiting on word from the ACC on whether star guard Jack McClinton can play Saturday after being ejected from the ‘Canes loss to Ohio State on Tuesday night.

An excerpt:

ACC officials were reviewing replays of the incident on Wednesday but had not yet decided if McClinton would be punished further.

“What’s disappointing is that in most situations like this, you know the next day,” UM coach Frank Haith said. “Jack’s in limbo. My program is in limbo.”

Haith said he spoke to ACC associate commissioner Karl Hicks, who attended Tuesday’s game, but had not talked to anyone in the league office on Wednesday.

Haith disputed that McClinton intentionally struck Crater, adding that the Ohio State guard “was totally in the game to rev Jack up.”

“Go back a couple of plays before, you see (Crater) jawing with Jack, you see him grab Jack’s jersey and you see when Jack passes the ball (just before the slap), he rakes Jack across the face,” Haith said.
