From the Smith Center, a.k.a. Dean Dome:
- My cohort, Jerry Tipton, has spotted former presidential candidate John Edwards in the crowd.
- Closing the poll question. The prediction of a UK loss by 11+ points won the poll with 58 votes. A total of 56 voted that UK would pull the upset. Next was a 20+ loss with 33 votes. After that came 26 votes for a 6-10 point loss, 14 votes for a 30+ loss and seven votes for a UNC win of below five points.
- Dick Vitale and Erin Andrews were just mock dancing in front of the UNC students. Maybe they’re auditioning for “Dancing with the Stars.”
- The officials tonight are Karl Hess, Roger Ayers and Gary Maxwell. Ayers worked the UK-VMI game Saturday.
- As you can see from above, the Carolina students are already here, and ready.
- Dick Vitale is here, as well. He came by the press room to say hello. Dick said he did not see the VMI game, but two stats stuck out to him. One was VMI’s 14 three-pointers to UK’s three. The other was Patterson’s four shots for the game. Said he had talked to Billy Gillispie a couple of days before the VMI game and the UK coach was high on his team, saying they had practiced well.
- It’s cold here. The wind chill never got out of the 30s today in the Raleigh-Durham-Chapel Hill area. The high tomorrow is supposed to be in the low- to mid-40s.

GO CATS as a recent transplant to the NC/SC border from NKY, cannot wait for us to pull the upset. Billy G you need to win this one!
This knucklehead might be able to recruit but he cannot coach worth a —-.
this kind of play goes beyond coaching, i am sure every coach these guys have ever had have told them “dont throw the ball to the other team”
Porter is HORRIBLE, he is responsible for over 1/2 of the turnovers, he has little ability at the point. Let the Freshman get the experience if thats the best we can do!!!
This is a train wreck.
