Notes before UK takes on Georgia at Commonwealth Stadium:
- Kentucky wins the toss and defers to second half.
- At 12:25 p.m., it’s just 45 degrees in Lexington.
- Can’t wait for the kickoff between meterologists and TV personalities Bill Meck and T.G. Shuck. If you want an example of pettiness, check this out.
- We’re closing the poll question for the UK-Georgia game. Here are results for the question, “What shot does Kentucky have of beating Georgia?” Only if the Cats are lucky: 45. So-so chance: 43. Good chance: 26. UK will pull the upset: 11. No shot: 10. We’ll have another poll after the game.
- The two teams playing today lost to Florida by a combined 112-15.
- Before Georgia quarterback Matt Stafford threw three interceptions last week against Florida, the only other game the Bulldog had tossed three picks in a game was at UK in 2006.
- Stafford was 16 of 28 for 230 yards, with one touchdown and three interceptions in that game, won 24-20 by UK.
- Georgia has won 10 of the last 11 games between the two teams.
- The Bulldogs are 16-4 in games after a loss under Mark Richt.
- UK took an early 10-0 lead last year before losing 24-13 in Athens.
- Kentucky is 3-24 against the Bulldogs when Georgia is ranked. The Dogs are 14th in the latest AP poll.
- The Cats have not beaten a ranked Georgia team since the 1965 edition beat the 10th-ranked Dogs 28-10.
- Georgia ranks last in the SEC in Red Zone defense. Opponents have scored touchdowns on 67.7 percent of their trips inside the 20-yard line.
- UK is 4-6 against the Bulldogs in Georgia’s last 10 trips to Commonwealth Stadium.
