E-mail from Robby: “It looks like Billy has more horses this year, and kudos to his recruiting, but I surely hope one of his blind spots doesn’t resurface – his penchant for playing those who practice hard over actual scoring talent. I say this because his starting 5 for this first tune up has 2 or 3 question marks and last year he started some question marks for half the season before switching gears and overplaying and riding Bradley and Crawford to the NCAA tournament. Heck, he started a slow walk on center last year who ain’t even here when he shoulda/coulda given more minutes toward improving AJ Stewart and Stevenson who at least had talent and futures. I guess I’m saying Billy can sure take his damn sweet time arriving at the best starting 5 that can put up the most points.”
- Kentucky lead 95-39 at the 7:33 timeout. E-mail from Rocco, who says he likes the UK uniforms from the waist up, but from the waist down, “They look like what girls wear, called “coolots”. They should just cut out the inseam, sew it back together and play in skirts! (It would have been appropriate Monday night playing a little girl cupcake team)!”
- Billy G puts all five starters back in at 10:22, up 91-37.
- It’s 90-35 Kentucky with 11:46 left. Cats are shooting 58.5 percent from the field. UMSL is shooting 31.1 percent.
- Cats up 87-33 as UMSL takes time out with 13:09 left. Harrellson comes in and adds four more points to his total. He just missed an open shot inside because he was surprised to find himself that open. Not too worry, the sophomore followed in the miss. Darius Miller now has 10 points and has hit a pair of threes.
- Kentucky lead is 80-28 with 15:43 left in what passes for a game. Meeks off to a hot start the second half. He’s up to 21 points for the game. Patterson has 19. Ramon Harris stuck a three. Will be interesting to see substitution pattern the second half. Liggins and Miller have already checked in this half.
- Stats now have Meeks listed as making five of 14 shots the first half.

In response to Robby, the best 5 are not always the five that will score you the most points.
