From Jeff:
Can you please help your following understand why Rich Brooks continues to let Lones Seibert kick (I mean miss field goals)? I don’t care how good he is in practice. If he can’t perform on the field when it counts he should never see the field. He’s proven that he can’t make the kick in the game. I understand that he made a big time field goal in last year’s LSU game, but please help us remember his current kicking percentage and the cost of each kick per game.
Besides, didn’t Brooks announce that Tydlacka would kick field goals? What ever happened to that decision. If I remember right, hasn’t he only missed one field goal that wasn’t blocked.
Also, why isn’t Tydlacka “pooch” kicking all the punts. We just saw another reason why he should be on the field. Miss St’s punter killed us in the first half!
I asked Brooks at Monday press conference why he went back to Seiber. Coach said he had kicked better and he was upset with Tydlacka for missing field goal against Arkansas.

If he’s upset with Tydlacka for missing a field goal, he must be really ticked at Sieber.
Sounds to me like UK needs to put recruiting a consistent kicker a little higher on their list.
Sieber has had a horrible year this year. Brooks continues to trot him out there when we need him the most and he has missed more than he’s made this year. When is the buck going to stop and the coach going to get the special teams problems addressed?
My friends and I figured this one out last year… if the game is on in prime time or is against a top 10 opponent, Sieber is automatic, else, not so much. If Brooks had this kind of insight we’d have a real platoon at kicker.
