From The Swamp:
- Final: Florida 63, Kentucky 5.
- With clock ticking down, cutting off blog so I can go down to the field in time for press conferences. Check Kentucky.com for final score. Will be back after press conferences, etc. with stats, comments and hopefully audio.
- Kentucky gets a safety as bad Florida snap ends up with ball out of end zone, making it 63-5 Gators with 4:07 remaining.
- This would be UK’s worst loss since the 65-0 loss at Florida in 1996. (Tim Couch’s first start.)
- By the way, 63 points is most an Urban Meyer team has scored in an SEC game.
- Fourth-and-two at the 5-yard line, Cobb rolls right and is stopped short. Florida takes over with 6:09 remaining.
- Cobb moving team again, down inside Florida 20 with little over 7 minutes remaining.
- Like the Kentucky team, we’re having troubles with wireless, blog, etc. Sorry for the delays.
- Gators put in backup quarterback Chris Brantley, who throws a 38-yard touchdown to David Nelson for score and 63-3 lead with 11:45 remaining.
- That Florida scoring drive took over eight minutes.
- End of third quarter: Florida 56-3.
- Gators end up going 78 yards in 16 plays for touchdown with Moore diving in from a yard out on fourth-and-goal to make it 56-3 with 2:59 left in third.
- Florida facing a 4th-and-1 at UK 6-yard line. Will Meyer go for it, or kick field goal? Got to find drama somewhere. There’s 5:48 left in third.
- We’ve kind of bogged down now. Florida is on a mini-drive and controlling the clock.
- I have no idea why Hartline starts second half. I know you’re asking. Especially now. First play of second half, Hartline’s pass under pressure is intercepted by Black and returned 40 yards for an (easy) touchdown and a 49-3 Florida lead. Just nine seconds elapsed in the second half.

Here was Lou Holtz in the UK locker room at the half:
OK, Kentucky. You’re down 42-3 right now to the Mighty Florida Gators and nobody believes in you. This adversity doesn’t matter. What matters is how you overcome adversity. That determines your character.
Like I said, nobody believes in you. But you’ve got to believe in yourself at the great Randall Cobb. Look at your brother who you will fight in the trenches with this second half. Look at him and tell him you’re going to be there for him. You’re going to perform to the very best of your ability.
So remember, ability is what you’re capable of doing. Motivation determines what you do. Attitude determines how well you do it. Now let’s go out there and take back this game - unless Hartline is back at quarterback.
This one game is going (in my mind) to overshadow all the momentum built the past three seasons.
With this kind of whipping, how do you get mentally prepared to take on State next week?
How do you recover from this and beat State next week?
How do you recover from this and beat State next week?
Can Curtis Pulley transfer back in?
Second time today Tebow has put the ball on the ground with only four white shirts all around the play…and somehow he recovers his own fumble both times.
I can’t believe Brooks didn’t put Cobb back in the 2nd half…
Tell me again, what is the UK record for greatest fourth quarter comeback?
Only a fool would believe one game unravels the momentum of three seasons. A memory longer than five minutes would allow you to recall the 49-0 pounding that LSU administered to UK two seasons ago that left UK at 3-4. We finished 8-5 with a bowl win over Clemson.
Did Cobb get hurt a halftime is that why heartless is in at QB? Why not go for it on 4th down they trying to keep Flordia backed up? If they don’t keep Cobb at QB there are going to be more of these games!!!!!!
I’ll bet you didn’t think your 35-7 prediction would be so accurate…for the first half…
This is really embarrassing.
Wow what horrible team is getting demolished by FLordia this week…..wait it us, wtf!
Kentucky and Kansas have both given up 63 today…and it is not basketball season. Misery loves company.
I took cats and 24 points, this is ugly
I can understand our offense struggling but why our defence
As much as I wanted Hartline to succeed, and I understand he’s a sophomore, first year starter, blah blah blah…Cobb is the better option. He gives the offense more options and he’s just a better QB; better arm strength, more accurate, the list goes on. If Brooks continues to start Hartline, this season will be a joke!
