Here are a couple of e-mails I’ve received since UK’s 24-17 loss today to the Gamecocks:
From Ray:
Hoo boy. These guys are not very good, but what can be expected from a coach whoses career record is less that 50%, guite a bit less in fact, and one whose success in Kentucky is tied to two consecutve seasons of 7-5, including two cereal bowl (toilet bowl?) victories. Alabama did its best to help Kentucky and S. C. was certainly not overpowering. Whee, maybe they’ll go to 6-6. Have they ever thought of transferring to the OVC or MAC where they might be competitive?
Lets forget the football season and go on to B ball.
From Die Hard:
I don’t think after today I need to tell anyone that I was right. It is obvious that Flatline…. oops I meant Hartline can’t throw any better than a 5 year old boy in baseball practice. I think you should resign but because of the fact that you are defending a coach that can’t keep his own word. Hmmm you might ask what are you talking about. Well I am talking about the statement that Rich Brooks promised to make this a two quarterback system. Well that has not happened. Even if he did we would not win football games because I know 5th graders that can throw better footballs that Hartline. I have been a faithful Kentuckian since birth and I can’t stand to see Hartline throw away a game like this. I think you owe me and the rest of Kentucky an apology. Rich Brooks needs to put in Cobb or he needs to step down. You need to wise up and face the facts. Just because Brooks has brought us a couple winning seasons that does not mean that we are still not the doormat of the SEC. I really encourage you to rethink your way of thinking. There is an old saying, the day you stop learning is the day you die. I think you could learn something from that saying and so could Brooks. Sometimes the fans are right. And other not, but in this case I think there is 100 percent chance that anybody on the roster other than Hartline could throw a better football.
