As you might expect, Tennessee fans did not take well to Saturday's 30-6 slap-down at the hands of the Florida Gators. And as you might expect, the finger is being pointed at that rather large target front and center on the Volunteers' sideline.
In the early days of the web, they used to call a rip-message as a flame.
So we could call this Flaming Phil Fulmer:
- It's either mediocrity or get rid of Fulmer, so writes the Leaf-Chronicle's Jimmy Trodglen.
- The Coaches Hot Seat Blog moves Fulmer up to No. 3 on its list of coaches feeling the heat. Washington's Tyrone Willingham is first on the list, followed by Virginia's Al Groh.
- The Southeastern Sports Blog asks if this is the tipping point for Phil?
- Lack of playmakers puts Fulmer on the hot seat says Ron Bliss.
- Where to go from here? So asks Fulmer's Belly. (Lunch?)
- Vols and Fulmer no match for Gators says the Orlando Sentinel's Mike Bianchi.
- Vols can't explain another lopsided loss to Gators, writes the Memphis Commercial-Appeal's Geoff Calkins.
- The clock is ticking on Fulmer, writes CBS Sportline's Gary Parrish.

I live in the Nashville area and we have three sports talk radio stations. For the last couple of weeks in particular, but really, going back to last season, there have been many callers wanting to get rid of Phil. As you listen to them, you would almost think you were listening to a KY call-in show from a couple of years ago talking about Tubby Smith. Some examples… “Sure, he won us a National Title but that was 10 years ago…” or “He needs to get better players…” or “Florida has passed us as the team to beat in the SEC East.”
