After UK's 20-14 win over Middle Tennessee:
- Quote of the night, from offensive coordinator Joker Phillips: “Here’s what’s discouraging to me. You see guys in pre-game signing singing Kanye West songs. How can they freaking understand every word that he sings and they can’t understand the freaking signals. That’s what’s frustrating.”
- Phillips was speaking of the numerous mistakes made by his wide receivers.
- Randall Cobb, Ricky Lumpkin and Micah Johnson all suffered high ankle sprains for Kentucky.
- On the game's final play, Middle had ball on own 38 with eight seconds left. Quarterback Joe Craddock threw a Hail Mary that the Blue Raiders tipped forward — great coaching — and the ball wound up in the hands of receiver Eldred King at about the 10, who was grabbed by UK's Robbie McAtee as he was stretching toward the goal line. King made it to the 1 before his knee touched.
- The play was reminiscent of LSU's Bluegrass Miracle when the Tigers beat UK on the final play, a tipped drill, in 2002.
- For Middle Tennessee fans, it might have brought back memories of the January 2000 Super Bowl between the St. Louis Rams and the Tennessee Titans when the Rams' Mike Jones tackled the Titans' Kevin Dyson one yard short of the end zone on the game's final play to preserve a 23-16 victory.
- UK coach Rich Brooks defended his decision to try a field goal with 20 seconds left, up six, leaving the Cats open to the possibility of a block — and it was blocked — by saying, “My thinking was if we kick the field goal we’re up by nine and we can’t possibly lose,” said Brooks. “But you can call me an idiot because they nearly scooped and score.”
- Lones Seiber made just two of six field goals. He connected from 40 yards, then missed from 48, 29, 42. He made from 25, but then was blocked on that 33-yard attempt.
- Middle Tennessee outgained UK 383 to 356.
- Middle quarterback Joe Craddock completed 21 of 37 passes for 352 yards and two touchdowns.
- UK quarterback Mike Hartline completed 28 of 47 passes for 254 yards and two scores.
- Craddock was the only one of the two who was intercepted, throwing one to Marcus McClinton.
- Kentucky gained 102 rushing yards on 35 carries.
- Middle Tennessee was held to a net 31 yards rushing on 23 carries.
- Dicky Lyons caught a career-high 12 passes, but for just 79 yards.
- It was the seventh time in the last 21 games that UK has come from behind for the win. Middle led 14-10 at the end of three quarters.
- Middle averaged 6.38 yards per play, most against UK since Florida averaged 6.78 last season.
- Middle coach Rick Stockstill, "It was a great effort by our guys, it was a great block (of field goal) by Alex Suber. It was a good job by Ted Riley scooping it up and taking it down a good ways and then they called holding on Suber. All I can do is look at the television up on the big screen and you can never tell on the big scxreen, but in my opinion, just watching it on television it did not look like Suber was holding."
- Stockstill: "That was a tough loss because we had a chance to beat that crowd. We never gave up. We had eight seconds left in the game and probably not too many people thought it would come down to the last play in the game."
- Kentucky has now won 12 straight non-conference games for the first time since 1954-60. UK won 17 straight during that stretch.
- UK tight end T.C. Drake caught four passes for 82 yards, both career highs.
- Dicky Lyons has caught at least two passes in 24 consecutive games.

The Cats did not execute well throughout the whole game making the game exciting and a lucky win. My surprise was the attempt of a field goal at the end of the game with 20 seconds left to play and the opponent with no time outs. It seems a running play that would expire the clock adn gome over game won.
Why on Earth were the refs not calling MTSU for chop blocking? Practically every time the ball was snapped, MTSU’s offensive linemen were diving at the legs of our D-line!!! Any idea where those refs were from because they were all around horrible for both teams!
