I haven’t given up hope yet, as crazy as it may seem, for us winning a share of the SEC title. So I’m pulling for Vandy. I’m more concerned with the teams ahead of us than the teams behind us. No offense John, but rooting for Vandy to lose to drop 2 behind seems more like playing “not to lose” as opposed to playing to win.
If Vandy pulls off the upset and we take care of business against Ole Miss, then we’re playing for first place in the SEC. Who would have thought that back in December?
Ah, Barry, you see the glass half full. You’re right, if UT loses and Kentucky wins then the Cats would take over first place (thanks to sweep) if they beat Vols on Sunday. But Vandy would be right there as well at 10-4, if Commodores win at Arkansas on Saturday. I just think that after what happened at Rupp last month, Tennessee will be ready for the Cats come Sunday.
Tenn. loses at Vandy and KY runs the table and we’re SEC champs and Billy Clyde is Coach of the Year. I know its a longshot, John, but I’d rather grasp onto that chance than root for the Vols. I did it last Saturday and that is enough to last a lifetime.
Well Tennessee will be a nightmare for us now. I am the most optimistic fan out there. The only reason they lost is because they lost their legs in the end. I have said all along that we could beat Tennessee but now Tennessee will be playing for respect and for the overall SEC championship regular season. We virtually have no chance. We cannot defend Chris Lofton again the way we did the last time. He will light Ramel up on Sunday. Book it.
I was rooting for Vandy for the exact reasons listed by John Clay. Unfortunately, UK needs to make sure they win every game other than Tennessee. I don’t like our chances again the Vols, given the loss last night and the fact that we got them at Rupp. Hopefully, Vandy slips up in one of the two remaining road games. They should be tough. Go Pelphrey and the Hogs.
Question: If Vandy and UK have the same record at the end of conference play, who will win the tiebreaker? Or can that yet be determined?
I don’t like our chances to hold off Vandy, unfortunately.
John, You’re asking a lot:)
