Talked with Birmingham News sports columnist Kevin Scarbinsky a little earlier today about the UAB Blazers, the team that plays Kentucky in Freedom Hall on Saturday, and about Tony Franklin, the former UK assistant who was yesterday named the offensive coordinator at Auburn.
Kevin said that UAB, thanks to injuries and other circumstances, doesn’t have the team it thought it was going to have. He said Mike Davis has calmed some as a coach. He also said that Tommy Tuberville is making a major change in approach by bringing in Franklin and his spread offense. Kevin also talks a bit about Alabama and Auburn hoops.
A terrific writer and one of the best columnists on basketball, not only in the south but anywhere, Kevin can be read here.
