Just 50 days until Kentucky and Louisville kick off the 2006 football season at Papa John’s Stadium, 8 p.m., Sept. 3 on ESPN.
To prepare for the war over the Governor’s Cup, each day we’ll examine a football fact about one of the two programs, or both.
We’re going to start with Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm, who is coming off reconstructive knee surgery at the end of last season. Brohm had a standout sophomore campaign, passing for 2,883 yards and 19 touchdowns. But how did it stack up, as far as sophomore passing seasons go, against other passers at both schools? Pretty darn good:
- Year School Passer Comp Att Yds TD-Int Rating
- 2005 Louisville Brian Brohm 207 301 2883 19-5 166.73
- 2000 Louisville Dave Ragone 216 354 2621 27-11 142.16
