Remember when Rick Pitino basically ruined an entire Louisville recruiting class in a fruitless attempt to get Sebastian Telfair to wear Cardinal Red? Now we know why Ricky P ignored the likes of Rajon Rondo and Chris Lofton and track Telfair, only to have the New York guard go pro right out of high school. The guy’s game is loaded. Literally. As a member of the Portland JailBlazers, Telfair was cited for carrying a loaded firearm onto a private plane. Telfair told authorities that the gun belonged to his girlfiend — Annie Oakley, we presume — and that he grabbed the wrong pillowcase before getting on the plane. The gun was in the pillowcase. Apparently, happiness is a warm gun. [Newsday]

I think Louisville with Chris Lofton would have been much more ferocious than Kentucky with Chris Lofton (even if you drop Crawford or Bradley from the equation). Lofton’s game just seems like it would fit Pitino’s style much better.
On the same note, Kentucky would be much more incomplete without Rondo than Louisville would be with him.
