Look ahead: Kansas

Ks Checked out Kansas’ win over Pepperdine on ESPN tonight. The Jayhawks are a jumble. Bill Self has some players, led by freshman Brandon Rush, a silky smooth shooter who nearly went pro. Sasha Kaun is decent underneath. He posted 18 points and 12 rebounds in KU’s 63-43 win over the Waves.

Kansas has lost by 12 to Arizona and by one to Arkansas in Maui, by two at home to Nevada and by three at home to St. Joseph’s. It has won three straight, including a 13-point win over California on Dec. 10.

The guess here is that by the time Kentucky comes to Allen Fieldhouse on Jan. 7, Self will have some of his questions answered. His is a young team with talent, dangerous at home, which should get better as the year progresses. Getting Rush to be a little more unselfish would help. And it will be Kentucky’s final game without Randolph Morris.
